Make the most amazing peanut butter chocolate combo dessert known to mankind. This has to be my favorite Spring and Summertime dessert. It’s absolutely DIVINE. It’s rich but light in texture, so for me, a lethal combination. I am making this one for Easter!
It has many names; Peanut Butter Oreo Trifle, Peanut Butter Oreo Layer Cake, Peanut Butter Oreo Dessert, etc. I’m still trying to figure out the best name. I think, Peanut Butter Oreo Heaven Cry It’s So Good Layer Dessert is the most fitting…
30 Oreos, divided
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup peanut butter
1-1/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
1 carton (16 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
2 cups cold milk
1 package (3.9 ounces) instant chocolate fudge pudding mix
Crush 25 cookies; mix in melted butter
Press into an ungreased 9×13 baking dish; set aside.
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese, peanut butter and confectioners’ sugar until smooth.
Fold in half of the whipped topping. Spread the peanut butter mixture over crust.
In another large bowl, beat the milk and pudding mix on low speed for 2 minutes. Let stand for 2 minutes or until thickened.
Spread over the peanut butter layer.
Spread the remaining whipped topping over the pudding layer
Crush remaining cookies; sprinkle over the top. The picture shows sprinkled butterfingers, but I’ve also seen peanut butter cups.
Cover and chill for at least 3 hours.
